My story is a simple one. I was born in the northwest city of Portland, Oregon. I was raised primarily by my grandparents. My uncle and my grandfather took me fishing at a very young age and I have continuously angled for warm water species including Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Bluegill and other pan fish throughout my life.

I started hunting when I was in college at the University of Oregon in Eugene in the late 1960’s. Nestled in the Southern Willamette Valley, Eugene is 30 minutes from the Coast Mountain Range and even closer to the Cascade Mountains. There is a mix of farmland in the valley and public and private timberland, which is home to the elusive Blacktailed Deer, Roosevelt and Rocky Mountain Elk, Cougar, Bear and numerous small game species. Waterfowl and Upland Birds are also present. In fact the first pheasants brought to the United States from China were brought to Corvallis, Oregon, which is 20 minutes north of Eugene.

Combined Episodes of Season 1

We've combined this season's episodes in single DVD sets. (The only exception is Episode 9 - the second duck hunting video, which is part of the full 13 episode set or sold as a single episode.)

Episodes 1 & 2

Our season opener centered around the Portland Gun Club and their "New Shooters Day" event.  We brought 3 youngsters on this trip to SE Portland for a hands-on experience.  The PGC was a gracious host and we had a great interview with one of the clubs fine members and trainers.

Join us on this great adventure in the mid-Willamette Valley near Chesire, Oregon as we take Carla and Mashawn from our Portland Gun Club "New Shooters Day" to the field.  These youngsters were able to apply the skills and lessons from the PGC event to this chukar hunt at the Bear Creek Pheasant Farm.  What a great day it was.

Episodes 3 & 4

Meet my cousin, Billy Anfield as we reminisce about our lifelong relationship.  Then follow us to The Snake River where I introduce my grandson, Tavian, to the joys of fishing.

Chancellor Archie is our studio guest and does a terrific job of explaining bow hunting and his experiences.  Then we head out to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for an Elk Hunt.  Wow!

Episodes 5 & 6

We went back to the Bear Creek Pheasant Farm in Chesire, Oregon for a spectacular pheasant hunt.  There was some controversy about one of the shots made, but we still came away happy.

The Terminator (aka Donnell Adair) hunts Clatskanie, Oregon with friend Eugene Anderson.  He bags a buck!

Episodes 7 & 8

Rian Strong of the North Unit Hunt Club on Sauvies Island was our host for this tremendous field event.  He really showed us his hospitality and shared the best example of duck calling heard anywhere.

Traveling back to Mississippi in December of '08 was a nostalgic family event.  We hunted deer with Donnell Berry, visited the hunting clubs in the area and saw some fine examples of taxidermy.

Episodes 10 & 11

Man oh man, what a rush sturgeon fishing with Bill Gaither and NW Hawghunters!  Bill puts it altogether and you just can't help but have a good time.

Back on the Willamette River with Bill Gaihther for some early spring salmon fishing.

Episodes 12 & 13

After nine months of work in the field and studio we put together a couple of videos based upon our experiences hunting & fishing. 

This DVD features some of the best hunting & fishing experiences we had in this Season 1 of AAHA's "The Outdoor Show".  We hope you enjoy viewing these as much as we did making them.
